School Values

OUR VISION STATEMENT:

"While we have time let us do good to all." - Galatians 6:10

OUR SCHOOL VALUES:

Within our vision and ethos we recognise key values that will help make our students better equipped for life. These are values which we strive to instil in each and every member of the school community.

H - Harmonious: "Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.” Romans 12:16-18

A - Aspirational: “May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.” Psalm 20:4

R - Responsible: “Take action, for it is your duty, and we are with you; be strong and do it.” Ezra 10:4

R - Respectful: “In everything do to others and you would have them do unto you.” Matthew 7:12

I - Inspirational: “Jesus looked at them and said, ‘For mortals it is impossible, but not for God. For God all things are possible.’” Mark 10:27

S - Sociable: “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up the other.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

OUR ETHOS:

At Harris Church of England Academy we aim to build upon the school's strengths and become an outstanding centre for learning within the community. Our vision for achieving this is through high quality teaching and learning with a commitment to valuing potential in all members of the Harris community.

All that we do is underpinned by Christian values and mutual respect. Worship at Harris Church of England Academy is part of our culture and our journey towards being outstanding. Working in partnership with all our young people and their families we strive to ensure they are all the best that they can be. These honest and trusting relationships are crucial in achieving the success for our students that they deserve.

We aim for our students to become highly skilled, confident, articulate young adults well placed to succeed in further education and employment, and emerge as active members of the community. Striving to unlock the talents of all our students, we continually challenge them to achieve their best and develop the skills for a lifelong love of learning. It is only through challenge that students truly discover what they are capable of. No matter where we start in life we recognise that all have the potential to achieve and at Harris Church of England Academy we strive to ensure that they do. Whilst we recognise the importance of examination success we believe that learning does not stop at the end of the school day and hence encourage students to engage with the school extra curriculum programme.
