Harris Students accepted onto Gradu8 experience at the University of Warwick

Three Harris students have been accepted on to the Gradu8 programme at the University of Warwick.  Gradu8 is a residential summer school with all participants staying in on-site University of Warwick accommodation.  Tyler P, Taylor K and Emmanuel G will engage in a variety of educational activities and experience university life.

Gradu8 is one of the many enrichment programmes Harris runs for students.  The programme includes:

  • Sutton Scholars
  • UniTracks
  • ThinkHigher
  • Student Progression
  • The Brilliant Club
  • CREST Awards
  • Duke of Edinburgh Awards
  • Talented and Gifted (TAG) Programme

Dr Stephen M Cullen, University of Warwick said, “As a university researcher in widening participation and able pupil provision, I have extensive experience of programmes to support able young people. Harris Church of England Academy’s Talented and Gifted (TAG) programme is one of the best I have encountered. Harris has built a strong model of provision for its brightest pupils, with dedicated staff responsible for ensuring the delivery of a very wide range of opportunities designed to enhance the learning experience of those young people. This has been accomplished within Harris’ overall commitment to ensuring high quality support for all its pupils. The Academy provides an example of just what can be achieved with the right approach, and a lot of hard work.”
