  • TAG RUGBY FESTIVAL FUN IN THE SUN

    Mon 19 Oct 2015

30 Harris Sports Leaders have supported 4 half day tag Rugby festivals organised by Harris C of E Academy School Sports Partnership this half term.  These festivals were timed to run in conjunction with the Rugby World Cup and follow the previous tag Rugby festivals run in April this year for circa 800 primary pupils. The event was run in partnership with Rugby Borough Council as part of the World Cup Celebrations.

The focus for the events was maximum participation and enjoyment for all. Whole year groups attended the festivals in welcome sunshine from Clifton Primary, Oakfield Primary, Northlands Primary, Hillmorton Primary, Paddox Primary, Long Lawford Primary, Dunchurch Junior, Rokeby Primary, English Martyrs RC Primary, Henry Hinde Junior, St Maries RC Primary, Knightlow Primary, Abbots Farm Junior and Boughton Leigh Junior School.  The weather was glorious and both year 3 and year 6 pupils were able to enjoy skills sessions and tag Rugby games that were superbly led by the young leaders. Our thanks to St Andrews RFC for kindly hosting the event once again and to the RFU and Neal Coupland of Wasps RFC who came along to support our young leaders in their training and delivery of the various activities. Our students were specifically praised by the primary staff attending the events for their outstanding coaching skills.
