  • Harris is awarded Silver RE Quality Mark

    Wed 26 May 2021

We are proud to announce that Harris has been awarded the RE Quality Mark silver award. The RE Quality Mark is a nationally recognised award which recognises the delivery of high quality teaching and learning in RE.

The assessor said, “The RS department at Harris is showing a genuine commitment to critical engagement with religion as a lived experience and has found some innovative ways of engaging with the diversity that exists within as well as between religions. The department is consistently and reliably meeting the criteria for the silver award and is making strong progress towards gold. Debate and discussion are particular strengths and learners are encouraged to think critically.

The Head of Department is enthusiastic and engages with up to date research and developments in the wider world of RE. Her leadership leaves the school in a strong position to respond to both the OFSTED report on standards in RE and the recommendations of the Commission on RE report.”

This is a fantastic achievement and we are very happy with the result.
