The Strengths of a Christian School
We are proud of the quality of Christian education at Harris Church of England Academy and consider it a privilege to be a Church of England school. As a Church of England Academy, we serve equally those who are of the Christian faith, those of other faiths and those with no faith.
Our students have a clear understanding of how the distinctiveness as a Church of England school impacts on their development. We have strongly embedded Christian values which permeate relationships at all level and have an inspiring provision for collective worship which has an impact on the whole school community.
Our students and staff greatly value the Christian ethos of the school and are committed to its development and flourishing and school motto “While we have time, let us do good to all” (Galatians 6:10) is truly lived out by staff and students alike.
Students take part in many charity activities, and there are weekly Christian Union meetings.
Across the curriculum opportunities are taken up to include faith based moral values in teaching and learning and form tutors use a weekly themed ’On Refection’ resource and connected bible verses to focus on during tutor time.
