First Aid Kit for Wellbeing
This kit is designed to help you to look after yourself and your mental health.
The idea of the first aid kit is so the person completing has something to 'fall back' on when they are feeling sad, low and anxious. It is used quite a lot in hospitals but on a more severe scale, known as a 'crisis plan'. The basis of the 'kit' is the same. It is for a person to sit and think about what supports them during a difficult time or on a difficult day.
The beauty of this is that everybody's is unique and individual to them. An example of what may be included on the first aid kit would be things such as; watching your favourite film, putting a facemask on, going horse riding, speaking to a close friend, journalling, meditating, yoga, bubble bath etc
When somebody is feeling low or struggling with difficult feelings they can look at their first aid kit that is already there and signpost themselves. The good thing about this is that it is written before a person gets to feeling sad- so they don't have to sit and think too much when there are experiencing difficult emotions. When you're having a bad day the last thing any of us wants to do is to sit and think about what we have to do- it is already written- and it's portable so you can carry it around.
