Harris Family

'While we have time let us do good to all’. (Galatians 6:10)'

What is the Harris Family?

Like all families, we desire for everyone in the community to flourish and fulfil their potential. As God’s children, every member or our community is valued whether they are with us for their whole senior school career, a year or just a term. We believe that this is a place where the inclusive, transformational heart of the Gospel is lived out.

Through our interactions we seek not only to educate, but also to allow for individuals to flourish and develop in ways which are individual to them, which allow them to grow in the areas which they find easy or when they find things difficult but also to know where their gifts, skills and talents will be best used.

As God’s love transforms individuals, so, we hope, being a member of the Harris Family allows for transformation. Transformational relationships allow for bespoke pastoral care and where necessary a tailored curriculum.

Through our interactions we can walk alongside our students and our staff. By dealing with the basic needs of students we provide a supportive environment where safe and happy students are in a position to achieve the best outcomes.

Here are some quotes from members of our Family about what the Harris family means to them -

“That everyone’s included no matter what” Alex, Year 10.

“It is a loving, caring environment” Ruby & Amy, Year 8.

“That staff and students all support each other” Staff member

“It’s a small school, everyone knows everyone else.” Izzy, Year 10.

“Togetherness. We’re a group of people that come together for each other.” Oscar, Year 9.

“People say hello, even if they don’t know me.” New student, Year 7.

“I know as a member of staff that I am supported. That I have someone to talk to if I need to.” Staff member.
