At Harris CofE Academy, we are committed to supporting every student on their journey towards a successful future. Our Level 6 trained Careers Adviser offers personalised careers guidance to help students explore their options, set goals, and make informed decisions about their education, training, and career pathways.
Year 10: All Year 10 students will have a scheduled one-to-one careers meeting. You will be sent an email before your meeting and it will be recorded on Unifrog.
Year 11: Students in Year 11 will receive a follow-up meeting if needed.
All Year Groups: Any student can request a careers meeting. Our Careers Adviser is also available for drop-in sessions during break and lunch times.
Explore Options: Understand the wide range of pathways available, including further education, apprenticeships, and training programs.
Set Goals: Develop clear, achievable goals based on individual interests and strengths.
Make Informed Decisions: Receive impartial advice to make choices that suit your ambitions.
Boost Confidence: Gain reassurance and support during key transition points.
A typical careers guidance meeting lasts around 30 minutes and is tailored to each student’s needs. During the session, students can expect to:
Discuss their interests, skills, and aspirations.
Explore suitable career options and pathways.
Receive advice on subject choices, post-16 and post-18 options, and employment opportunities.
Identify resources and tools to further their career research.
Create an action plan to support their next steps.
Our Careers Adviser provides a friendly and supportive environment where students are encouraged to ask questions and explore their future with confidence.
If you would like to request a careers meeting or have any questions, please visit the Careers Office (under the Library stairs) or contact us at careers@harris.covmat.org
We look forward to supporting your journey towards a bright future!
