  • Royal Institution of Engineering Masterclasses

    Fri 31 Jan 2020

Two Harris students have been successful in gaining places on the Royal Institution of Engineering Masterclasses at the University of Warwick.

This Series aims to open the eyes of young people to the excitement, beauty and value of engineering, and in turn, inspire the next generation of scientists, mathematicians and engineers.

The Series is delivered by staff and students from WMG. Each masterclass focuses on an aspect of modern engineering and is presented by an engineer actively involved in research or working in industry. The classes take the form of interactive workshop sessions.

  • Students achieve record LAMDA results

    Fri 17 Jan 2020

We're delighted to announce our LAMDA results for this year and are absolutely delighted that having entered our largest cohort of students we collected our best ever set of results gaining an unprecedented 5 out of 6 Grade 8 distinctions with an additional 1 merit. A grade 8 distinction carries 30 Ucas points and a merit 27.

We're super pleased that since 2013 of the 100 entries for LAMDA 53 have achieved distinction, 42 merit and 5 passes. The Grade 4 Acting students had to learn 2 monologues lasting at least 2 1/2 minutes and their subject knowledge for the viva; for Grade 6 Musical Theatre Annabel had to learn 3 songs and her subject knowledge; and for Grade 8 Acting students they had to learn 3 monologues of at least 3 minutes in length plus their AS level subject knowledge on Stanislavski.

The results cannot be achieved alone and we would like to thank all the staff that supported students to achieve their results.
