  • Speakers for Schools - Now Online

    Students from Harris CofE Academy have benefited from Speakers for Schools talks in previous academic years and now can access these from home.  Below is an example of upcoming speakers and we recommend you check them out.  More will be listed on the website.  Talks will take place at 10.00 and 14.00, Monday to Friday.

    The DofE are determined that young people shouldn’t miss out on doing their DofE because of the coronavirus outbreak – and they want to do everything they can to support participants to keep doing their award, at what they know is a really challenging time.

     

    To help to support participants, both now and when the lockdown ends, the DofE are introducing some temporary changes.  Check out the changes on the DofE website and keep working towards your award whilst at home.

    Harris CofE Academy are proud to be supporting our NHS workers in any way we possible can and therefore our Design and Technology department have made some accessories to ensure comfort whilst wearing facemasks for a prolonged period of time.

  • The Globe Theatre Goes Digital

    The Globe may have recently joined the West End and The Old Vic in shutting their doors, but there are still ways to get your fill of Shakespeare during our current period of quarantine. The famed wooden O has been recording their productions for years, and as of next Monday, you will be able to stream some of these iconic performance, for free, on their Globe Player. globeplayer.tv

     

    In addition, all of the productions from the Globe to Globe series will also be available for free. As will a new series, called ‘Shakespeare & Love in Isolation’ , which will feature isolating artists sharing Shakespeare’s words and a special celebration on April 23rd, the Bard’s Birthday, from the legendary Mark Rylance.
