We are delighted that 8 girls from Harris have been selected to become Football Activators as part of Harris Academy’s involvement in the Girls Football Partnership programme.
 

The girls will be involved in the ‘Game of Our Own’ element of the wider project, linking with The Football Association.
 

Game of Our Own is aimed at developing life skills and leadership through football. Through various training, resources and funding the programme seeks to:

• Improve the PE experience for girls through teachers adopting a life skills approach to PE using football as the vehicle
• Increase the number of girls participating and enjoying football related activities
• Develop girls in leadership roles as Football Activators to create and deliver relevant and enjoyable opportunities for more girls in their school

The girls have already attended national training and will now be delivering coaching in school and delivering a mini-festival, all aimed at increasing participation in girl’s football at Harris Academy. Great job girls, we are proud of your hard work.
