HARRIS SINGS FINAL

Harris C of E Academy had a phenomenal response to their recent singing competition, 'Harris Sings'. Over sixty pupils auditioned leading to some tough decisions throughout the four knockout rounds. Neil Williams, Head of Music said ‘the standard has been very high and we found ourselves with eight very capable finalists, any one of whom have the potential to break into the Music Industry. The package of prizes we have put together reflects this and will give the winner a fantastic chance of achieving exactly that.’

Friends and families packed the Drama Studios for the exciting Grand Final. The special guests and judges were were Los Angeles band Symmetry, who recently supported McBusted on their UK tour. They performed live on stage before giving positive feedback to each contestant on their individual performances. Ex-student Becki Morgan's group,  'Becki and the Dove' performed whilst the judges deliberated.

Elite Hair Design, Beat Box Vocal Coaching and Flipside Recording Studio all donated prizes and 'Harris Sings' winner, Jake Prior and Runner-up, Lotty Isles are looking forward to their makeovers and recording studio sessions.

Head of Creative Arts, Chris Browning, said 'Harris Sings has promoted singing in a new way at the academy. Students and staff mentors have loved the opportunity to develop week on week and enjoy the thrill of performance and competition. In my 20 years at the academy the standard of singing has never been higher!'
