  • YEAR 11 PARENTS EVENING

    For our Year 11 parents evening on Thursday 22nd of October we are using 'Insight' to book appointments with your child's teachers.

     

    Booking will open @ 9am on 1st October and will close @ 4pm on the 15th October

     

    Appointments are on a first come first served basis.

     

    Please see guide on how to book.

     

    If you are unable to logon to Insight then please contact ictsupport@harriscofeacademy  stating your name your child's name and a valid email address for us to use with Insight.

  • SUCCESSFUL OPEN EVENING 2015

    On Thursday, 17th September Harris Church of England held a very successful Open Evening for parents and students looking for secondary school places for September 2016.

     

    With over 400 visitors in attendance, parental feedback says that:

     

    • 100% felt that the welcome to the school was very good or outstanding;
    • 100% felt that the impression given by our students was very good or outstanding;
    • 100% felt that the impression given by our staff was very good or outstanding;
    • 100% felt that the information given in our prospectus was very good or outstanding.

     

    Feedback from prospective students says that:

  • PHIZZ WHIZZING WORDS COMPETITION

    To celebrate  Roald Dahl Day /Month,Young Writers have  launched a creative writing competition, ‘Phizz Whizzing Words’.

     

    Whether  pupils are inspired by Roald Dahl’s splendiferous poems or gloriumptious stories, Young Writers would love to read their work. Pupils are welcome to enter a poem or a short story to Phizz Whizzing Words – they can write their own version of a Roald Dahl classic, write a spin off story, emulate his style or even write a poem using their own made-up words. 

     

    Students who wish to enter the competition will need to bring their completed competition entries to me in the library by Friday 25th  September! 

     

    We will also be running our own school competition and will be awarding prizes for our best entry/entries!

  • EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES

    The 26th of September is European Day of Languages.

    To celebrate we will be greeting each other in Portuguese for the week starting the 21st of September.

  • DATA COLLECTION SHEETS & CONSENT FORMS

    All parents will receive Data Collection/Consent forms and general information packs home on Thurs 10/09/15.  Please check these documents carefully, amend or enter information where necessary, and then return signed sheets to Student Services Reception in the envelope provided.  Students must hand their sheets in to Student Services NOT to Form Tutors or other members of staff.  Please return ALL documents to school by Thursday 17th September at the latest – it is very important that we hold up to date information for your child.
