• Factory Tour on National Manufacturing Day

  Year 10 Product Design students were given the opportunity to visit a factory on National Manufacturing Day (28 September). We were given a presentation into the company, what they do and the jobs available.

   

  Students then toured the factory floor and were given a real insight into how their GCSE relates to the workplace. We were shown the materials used by Technoset to create their products and the machinery used. Technoset produce components for industries including supercars and aerospace.

  

• Creating Imaginary Worlds

  A group of Year 8 students were given the opportunity to be swept away to a land beyond their wildest imagination with Katherine Rundell, author of Impossible Creatures and The Explorer. Katherine spoke about how she creates her world, gave tips on creative writing and spoke about her career as an author. After the virtual talk, students created their own impossible creatures using their imagination.

  

• Satchel Login Guide

  Students in Year 7 were shown how to log in to Satchel during Form time today - 12th September. We encourage Parents and Carers to sign up for their own account too. Any issues, students can visit the IT team for assistance.
