  • World Skills UK Live

    Wed 27 Nov 2019

    On Thursday, 21st November 2019 some of our year 10 students got to attend the WorldSkills UK Live event at the Birmingham NEC.

    This event is the UK’s largest skills, training and careers event and it offers hundreds of great career ideas, educational options, apprenticeship programmes and live job opportunities all under one roof!

    Our students got to walk around the venue and speak with a number of companies, as well as getting lots of freebies, their faces painted and gained lots of useful information. There was also the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities.

    The event was made up of a number of zones such as Health and Social Care, Engineering, Construction, Catering, Hospitality, Medical, 3D Graphic Design and Media, to name but a few.

    WorldSkills UK Live {formerly The Skills Show} is an annual event which takes place over a 3 day period and allows all visitors from primary school age to adults to;

    • Have a go at loads of different job skills
    • Learn how to build a strong mental attitude
    • Discover how professionals started out and what their lives are like now
    • Meet leading employers and education, training and apprenticeship providers
    • Watch presentations from young people and business leaders on the Spotlight Stages
    • See young professionals battle it out for medals in the WorldSkills UK National Finals.

    This is a really worthwhile event and hopefully, our students found it informative and enjoyable.
